Filament Prints

Currently the backbone of the consumer sector, this technology offers extruded plastics and plastic composites termed, "exotics." This is a hands on technology, often requiring tuning, calibration, and the watchful eye of a technician to ensure succesful part builds.

We Use: The Airwolf Axiom and Leapfrog Creatr HS

Materials We Offer: ABS, ASA, Carbon Fiber, Carbon Nanotube, Conductive PLA, ESD ABS, HIPS, Magnetic PLA, Metal, Nylon, Nylon Polymer, PCTPE, PETG, PLA, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, TPC, TPE, TPU, Tribo, Ultem, Wood infill, and 910 ALloy. When We Recommend It: Filament is an ideal choice for generally simple prototypes and models, low impact parts, low stress parts, parts intended for large assemblies, extensive hand-finishing and alteration, or applications specific to an exotic material type.

When We Don't: Filament is generally not suitable for sustained mechanical functions, high impact use, high stress use, displaying complex geometry, fine quality surfaces, smooth finishes, and fine details. Depending on your project, a professional grade material may also offer better per unit pricing.

Bonded Gypsum

Fast build times and the ability to capture detail along with intricate geometries make this technology unique and versatile. Bonded Gypsum is a professional grade technology, meaning clients benefit from better per unit cost on higher quantity prints.

We Use: 3D Systems' Projet 460plus and 660.

Materials We Offer: Gypsum is the standard material for this technology, available in monchrime natural, or full color. Varying finishes and infusions are avaialbe for any gypsum print. Please inquire.

When We Recommend It: Gypsum is perfect for full-color aesthetic models and prototypes in which a striking visual is a must. This makes it perfect fo custom awards, collectibles, art, and similar display pieces. It can also be ideal to create a master for mold making, and can sustain functional use in some applications depending on finishing materials applied.

When We Don't: Gypsum is generally not suitable for most mechanical functions and high impact use. While it's great for showing detail, very fine detail is better suited to an even higher grade technology like MJP or SLA.

Paper Printing

3D Printing with standard office paper sounds a bith surreal, but it's one of the incredible options we offer. Paper can create unbelievablely realistic lookign models that are surprisingly durable.

We Use: The Mcor Iris

Materials We Offer: Mcor's printers create parts from standard 8.5"x11" office paper either in full color or monochrome. Varying finishes and infusions are availabe for any paper print.

When We Recommend it: Paper is another great choice for full-color aesthetic models or prototypes in which aesthetic is as critical a factor as funciton. If properly treated, paper can also make an excellent master for mold making. Due to the almost wood-like nature of finished parts, it work well for specialized functionality. When We Don't: Models with lots of small or thin, floating features and modeled texture may be better suited to another professinal grade technology. While some functionality is achieveable with paper, parts for use are better created in a another professional grade technology.

Multi Jet Printing

Multi Jet materials begin the upper echelon of professional grade technology. One of the go-to options for working prototypes, masters for casting, Fine detail, high quality surface finishes, and speciality applications.

We Use: 3D Systems Projet 3510, Projet 3600, and Projet 5500X

Materials We Offer: Acrylate-like resin, 61A Elastomers, 75A Elastomers, Tango Plus, wax-to-brass, wax-to-bronze, wax-to-silver, wax-to-gold.

When We Recommend It: We frequently recommend multi jet technology for any part intended for some kind of professional use, custom use, or prototyping. MJP and the higher grade printers offer true-to-CAD resolutions, meaning they are among the best in terms of producing accuracy down to microns. Castable waxes are ideal for creating jewelery or similar pieces in metal, especially if the design cannot be produced through traditional mold making.

When We Don't: Parts intended for certain functions benefit from the increased strength of technology like SLS. Similarly, larger parts are generally better suited to SLA or SLS, depending on the nature of their design.

DLP Printing

Similar to SLA, DLP printers use white light to cure liquid resins, which allows for very fine detail and very clean surfaces with no visible layers. Naturally, this makes the technology ideal for any parts requiring small overall size and a high level of accuracy.

We Use: 3D Systems Projet 3510, Projet 3600, and Projet 5500X

Materials We Offer: FTX Gold, FTX Silver, FTX Clear, FTX Gray, FTX Cast, and FTX Green.

When We Recommend It: This technology is a great option for jewelers and jewelry designers already working with a foundry. Similarly, due to the microns fine resolution, it's an excellent option for anyone in need of parts for the dental industry, medical industry, or laboratory applications.

When We Don't: Due to the small size of the build platform, this technology is not ideal for printing at quantity and does tend to offer the most benefit to a select few types of applications.

SLA Printing

The oldest and still foremost 3D Printing technology, SLA is the all-around choice for quality, versatility, functionality, and ability to capture fine detail.

We Use: 3D Systems Projet 6000 and Projet 7000

Materials We Offer: ABS-like, PP-like, PC-like, High-res, High Impact, Bluestone, and High temp resins.

When We Recommend It: Almost any print would make an excellent SLA print. It's ability to capture fine details in true-to-CAD accuracy, and smooth surfaces distuinguish its aesthetic quality, while its ABS-like durability make it usable in a lot of scenarios.

When We Don't: There are few instances we wouldn't recommend SLA. Generally, prints requiring highly specialized material specifications related to application are the only instances we would recommend another technology.

SLS Printing

Composite plastics at their finest. SLS is the most reliable type of printing for creating parts intended for real and sustained use. Parts prouced using this technology offer a high degree of mechanical function, coupled with impact resistance, flexural strength, and temperature resistance.

We Use: 3D Systems Projet 3510, Projet 3600, and Projet 5500X

Materials We Offer: Nylon, Glass filled Nylon, EX White, EX Black, and HST.

What We Recommend It: If functionality is the primary objective or a printing project, SLS is the ideal choice. It offers durability, longevity, all combined with light weights. SLS is also an excellent choice for large-format parts.

When We Don't: There aren't many instances in which SLS isn't a good option for a print. As with SLS, generally better options only occur when a project has specific needs SLS doesn't meet. Similarly, it offers a slightly texture finish, which can mean fine detail and form are better suited ot MJP or SLA.

DMP Printing

Metal Printing reflects state of the art solutions for advanced applications that can completely transform professional and production processes, creating working parts, which are completely usable.

We Use: 3D Systems ProX series.

Materials We Offer: Steel and Titanium. Various grades.

When We Recommend it: Metal prints can optimize advanced appliactions, even saving tens of thousands of dollars. Aside from their general benefit, such parts can contain geometries and forms that cannot be produced through milling, machinng, or castings. They excel in applicaitons for Aerospace, defence, heavy industry, and similar fields.

When We Don't: Direct Metal Printing is cost effective for advanced, professional applications and generally not for personal use or in an attempt gain acces to any type of aftermarket metal parts that are otherwise must be produced in mass quantities. If a project does not fall into the category of creating a custom or specialized soultion for a professional or production manufacturing part, odds are DMP is not the process we recommend.
